Hello Educators! In an effort to make involvement at the NYS Fair a little less confusing, we’ve made some changes to what used to be the Teen Leader Packet and Guide for 4-H Staff. The revised New York State Fair 4-H Handbook can be found below. Please take a moment to review the changes as well as print out copies for distribution to key staff, volunteers, and teens in your county. There are three sections to the revised handbook. Each section is a separate document.
Section I - Info On The Go - contains important pre-Fair registration information, leadership nomination deadlines and other critical information related to State Fair.
Section II Guide For Staff - a comprehensive overview of NYS Fair involvement in general.
Section III Just For Teens - a ‘print ready’ document, easily distributed to teens, providing detailed information about teen leadership opportunities and other possible involvement at the New York State Fair. The nomination process for teen leader positions will be the responsibility of County Educators using the On-Line Teen Leader Nomination form.
2009 COUNTY ROTATIONS
During the 2009 NYS Fair, we will continue the 4-H Choose Health…And My World theme, but will also encourage displays & hands-on activities related to the mission mandates: SET, Healthy Lifestyles and Citizenship. The idea is for counties to provide interesting and informative displays that showcase the variety of opportunities available and to demonstrate that 4-H Connects Kids to Cornell! Think outside the box, be creative, do something different, and have fun bringing great programs and ideas to life!
