CCE 4-H State Public Presentation Event at State Fair
New in 2009, our annual CCE 4-H Public Presentation Event (non-horse) is moving to the State Fair 4-H Youth Building during the 2009 New York State Fair offering participants a chance to proudly present in front of State Fair crowds while being evaluated and recognized in the limelight. Presenters selected through District Events (up to three per county in the district), will have their choice of presenting at the State Fair in the Youth Building on Saturday, August 29th, Wednesday, September 2nd or Saturday, September 5th. Presenters will be evaluated and recognized.
This move to State Fair will eliminate the event cost per presenter charged to each county currently. It will also help to leverage funds to support increased training in districts or multi-county areas to encourage more consistency in the statewide 4-H Public Presentation program. Evaluation of the event will help determine plans for 2010. Training throughout New York State will be provided by Dianne Walter, our former Public Presentation Event Coordinator, who will be funded through the NYS 4-H Foundation. Thanks for input shared by all districts via your district representatives. The decision to support increased training, the success of the North Central District Presentation Event at Fair, and several comments in support of coordinating statewide events and saving on transportation costs led to this important decision.
